T/S  Anthony was crying when he was left alone.  When I was little, I sometimes did that, too.  It helps me understand the story because I can share my feelings with him.

T/T  In many books that I read, there are chests that lead to other places.  It helps me understand the story because the chest must be magical, like the ones in the other books.

T/S  When Anthony opened the door to the chest room, he had to find the courage to do so.  Sometimes, that happens to me, too.  It helps me better understand the book because I can relate to his fear.

    Hi Alex-

Great connections! I know what you mean about other books that have some sort of entrance to another place. It immediately reminded me of The Chronicles of Narnia.

I’m also glad to see you were able to make some text-to-self connections, and that you further explained why they helped you better understand the reading.
