T/S Whenever I hear a strange noise in my house I wake up immediately, like Mrs. Oxenstern. It is usually my imagination or it is in my dreams(the noise). It helps me better understand how Mrs. Oxenstern felt and how worried she was about herself.
T/W People in the world lie to people saying an item is worth a lot even though it is not. That happened to Mrs. Oxenstern. It helps me better understand what kind of cheats there are in the world and in books. It also helps me better understand how gullible Mrs. Oxenstern is.

S. Who did Mrs.Oxenstern see by the table?
T. What do you think exactly happened to the Mr.Ambrose(Grand Autarch)after he talked about the 3, the 9, and the ace of spades reversed being death.
I don’t think he killed himself but I think that a long time ago, while he was using cartomancy, he used that order by mistake trying to get to the Autarch world making him look how is today.

Skinny- Where did Anthony, Emerson, and Miss Eells live?
Think- Who do you think said the words that Anthony heard when he opened the door at the end of the chapter?
I think it was the head Autarch because I think he still trying to get them back for hurting him.

T/S Miss Eells and Anthony secretly hope that Emerson’s theory about the painting is wrong because they don’t want anybody to get killed. Sometimes, I wish that somebody is wrong because I don’t want to be in danger of getting hurt, like if somebody tells me to jump of a moving bike. It helps me understand the story because Miss Eells and Anthony want the adventure to be over.
T/W Miss Eells and Anthony see a tall, scary looking figure that gives the ma clue to finding the way back to the Autarch’s world. In just about every movie I saw with a painting in a mansion of a villain, the person was tall, had a black coat, and was scary, like the one in the story. It helps me better understand the book because the figure might be the Grand Autarch because he’s very gloomy and scary.

Skinny – What football songs did Miss Eells and Anthony sing during their road trip?
Thick – Do you think the mansion that Anthony and Miss Eells saw that was for sale is the mansion in the other world? Or else do you think it is another way to the other world?
Thoughts – I think it is another way to the mansion in the other world because it looks like the mansion and is the only way to the other world because the purple window pane is broken so the chest cannot appear no matter what.
