    Aushenay: Because last year was an election year and this year was the Inauguration, the speech is normally pushed back if one is given.

    From what i read, the Presidents usually gave their speeches in January. Why did President Obama give his so late?

    I cant believe they dont have to have a speech seems like it would be mandatory
