Chapter 9sm

June 2nd, 2008

Dear Willam,
Do you know what it’s like here? I really like it here. The family here is really trying to make it like home for me. Everyone here is really nice. The only thing I don’t like is there is no ocean. There must be a billon acres of land.   I hope you’re having fun back home. Write me as often as you like.

P.S There is a little boy named Caleb, he is not afraid to talk. Anna is shy and calm same with the dad. Caleb must have got his craziness from his mom’s side of the family.

                           Sincerely,  Sarah

         Dear William,

I wanted to tell you about the life on the prairie.Anna is really nice and so is Caleb. Jacob is really nice too. Its much different than Maine here. There is no sea at all.All there is are miles of land that roll like the sea.

I really miss Maine.our neighbor Maggie (who is as nice as the sea)told me that you miss something everywhere you go.  And its true.  The other day we made our own dune. We made it out of hay of corse. It was like jumping off a big rock.It was really fun.

Maggie brought me three chickens. Shes the best neighbor ever! Well, gotta go!

                                      Sincerely,

                                                   Sarah

Dear William,

Hi! I wanted to tell you all about life on the prarie and the family here. You can see cows and different kinds of animals. There are also squalls. I taught Jacob’s Anna and Caleb how to swim in the cowpond. There is no Ocean. but there are hay dunnes. The grass is as wavy as the Ocean. The sheep are mayhem. There are Pink  and Purple Posies all over the place. The squalls go BOOM! and Whoosh!

                         I miss you.

                                                      P.S. Don’t forget to write!!!

And instead of waiking they have wagons which is a much more faster transportation then walking. And things are very spread out and sometimes I get a little bit lonely.

The family is great! The father’s name is Jacob he has a daughter and a son.The daughters name is Anna and the son’s name is Caleb.Soon I might be part of there family. They have some sheep,a dog, some chikens, and a horse.Seal is getting along well with the dog.I really like this family and will be soon be use to them.I miss you and I might not get to see you for a long time if I get married to Jacob.have a fun time back at Maine see you later,Bye!

Dear William,

I MISS YOU! I wanted to write and tell you all about life on the prairie and the family here. There is no ocean here. I miss the sound of the huge waves crashing at the shore in the morning. The house is nice. Seal likes it too. They have like one million miles of land here. I also made some friends, the chickens. They are so cute. They also have cows. I never imagined them that big. They are as big as Papa’s house. The people friends I made are Caleb, Anna and Jacob. Caleb is young but still fun to play with. Anna is very polite and bigger then Caleb. They are as nice as a CareBear. Last there is Jacob (the dad). He is a nice guy but he thinks that I can not do things that I can do because I am a girl. He is getting better. Hope to see you soon.

Sincerely,

Sarah

  • One time I was at my friends and I started to miss my mom. So my friend told her mom and she said ok how about I bring the snack up here.  Then you will probably fall asleep. She was right .  I fell asleep and forgot about missing my mom.
  • I remember at my house there was a thunder and lightning storm. I was with my mom, my dad, and my sister.  I felt really scared.  The lights went out for a long time, almost 5 hours and it was night time . We had about 20 candles lit in the whole house. I was so so so so so so scared the black……..

Dear William,

I am in Kansas it’s very dry here.  I miss you.  I miss Maine also.  I miss the dunes there, but we have a dune here made out of hay.  I learned how to ride a horse and drive a wagon.  I am having a good time in Kansas almost as much fun as I had in Maine.  I cut Caleb and Anna’s hair and set it free for the birds to make nests with.  Write back.

Sincerely,

Sarah

Dear William,

Life in Kansas is different from life in Maine.  There is no sea and I really miss it, but I am enjoying my time here in Kansas.  Jacob’s kids are great.  I got to teach Caleb and Anna how to swim in a pond.We went to find a dune and it was great.  I got to feel the sheep’s warm coat, but sadly one died.  There are a lot of storms in Kansas.  I’m very happy here and I hope you come visit us.

Love,

Sarah

Dear William,

Kansas is fun! Caleb, Anna, and Jacob are very nice. Lottie and Nick are the dogs. They are getting along well with Seal. The cows, horses, and the sheep on the farm are delightful. Jacob taught me how to plow and drive a horse and wagon. I taught Caleb and Anna how to float in the cow pond. I helped Jacob fix the roof before a big storm. We slept in the barn in the hay with all the animals during the hailstorm. So far, Kansas is a great experience. I still miss Maine and you. I wonder how your marriage is going. Talk to you soon!

Love,

Sarah
